	Bring in your gently used children's clothing, toys and baby equipment.
	While you check out the great kids stuff in the store, the buyer will review your items.
	The buyer will select and make an offer on the items that meet current style, safety and condition standards, as well as store's current stock levels.
	Once you accept the offer, you’ll be on your way with some extra money, some great new stuff for your kids, or both!

At Once Upon A Child you'll find a huge selection of gently used kids clothing, toys, furniture and equipment at up to 70% off retail! We're not your typical secondhand store. The items that we buy and sell are next to new, good quality, clean and have been checked for safety standards.

Selling Tips

In order for us to offer the latest and greatest in styles at value prices, clothing and accessories must be purchased within the last five years.
Equipment and toys must meet current safety standards and include all parts. Not sure if your item qualifies? Bring it in and we’ll check it out!

Be sure your apparel items are freshly laundered and in good condition – no stains, fading, or excessive wear.
Clean toys and equipment sell best.
It is most efficient for us to review items folded neatly in a box, bin or tote. Please, no hangers or garbage bags.
It’s always a good idea to call us to find out about what we buy.

Monday - Saturday: 9:30am-8:00pm

Sunday - 11:00am-6:00pm

We'll gladly consider purchasing your children's new or gently used clothing, toys & books, furniture, and equipment.

There is no appointment necessary and we pay you on-the-spot for the items we can accept.
We operate on a first-come/first-serve basis.
We'll give you a "quote time" for how long we think it will take us to process your items. We always strive to process your transaction in this window, and we appreciate your patience on high volume days.
We operate same-day buy transactions, and we will take on any given day what we can process that day before closing. If bringing apparel after 4pm please call the store to check the sales volume for the day. On high volume days we will be able to advise of our remaining capacity for the day. 757-968-5437
You will need to be able to finish your transaction the same day you bring items in.
You will need to return no later than one hour before closing to finish your transaction.
For customers traveling from outside the area, please ensure you arrive early in the morning and plan on having at least 2 hours for your transaction.
Our employee safety is important to us so we are unable to accept storage containers larger than 25 gallons. Please factor this into your planning and selling preparation before coming to the store. Our employees give a big "Thank You!" for helping them keep their necks, backs and spines safe!

Clothing must be in good condition, of current style, freshly laundered, free of any potential allergens (like pet hair or smoke), and neatly organized.

We find we can buy the most when clothes are folded neatly in a box, basket, or bin.

Toys, equipment and furniture items must be assembled in store to verify all parts are present.

At Once Upon A Child, safety and product quality are always our top priorities. For these reasons, there are some items we are unable to buy such as car seats and recalled products, which do not meet current Government Safety Standards.
