Our store is owned an operated by twin sisters, Lori & Traci, and their families. The store was born after 'the exersaucer meltdown'. Traci lived in another state and shopped at an OUAC there. When she moved back home to Hampton Roads, VA she missed having an OUAC. For years she talked with Lori about starting a business. Once Lori had her first child she went to buy an exersaucer and could not believe the outrageous prices on baby gear, equipment, and clothing. After that expereince Once Upon Newport News was born. We are proud to have brought the OUAC brand to Hampton Roads. We opened our store in 2010. Since that time we have helped families save over $23 million dollars versus pay full retail prices. And, we have put over $2 million dollars into the pockets of local families by helping them recycle and reuse their kids' stuff.
We have 3 children (and 2 dogs) who make sure there is a never a dull moment in our house.
They fill our house with lots of laughter, chasing, and hugs.
We live with autism in our family and we advocate for autism awareness and education.
We are parents of a 8 year old who loves Star Wars, Transformers,
and playing outside. We are a bi-lingual family so if you see an 8 year old
running around the shop speaking German, he's probably ours!
